Fiji’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services has reported 60 new cases of COVID-19.
Twenty of those new cases were recorded on June 10, two new cases were recorded on June 11, 28 new cases were recorded on June 12, and 10 new cases in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.
Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said of the 60 cases recorded, 21 cases were recorded in the Central Division; 34 cases were recorded in the Western Division; and five cases were recorded in the Northern Division.
He says the national seven-day rolling average of cases as of June 9 is 14 daily cases.
The Central Division cases constitute 67 per cent of the cumulative total cases nationally, with the Western Division making up 28 per cent, 3 per cent in the Northern Division, and 2 per cent in the Eastern Division.
Dr Fong also reported one new COVID-19 death – that of a 45-year-old female from the Central Division who died at home on June 11.
He said the woman had multiple pre-existing medical conditions and was not vaccinated.
