THE newest addition to Damodar City Centre, The Sugar Temple, is attracting quite a few people especially with a chocolate fountain on display.
The idea for the restaurant started when Sangeeta Maharaj, owner of Eden Bar and Bistro, had lots of positive feedback on the restaurants desserts.
“At Eden, our favourites are our desserts and people kept commenting on them and then started asking us to make birthday cakes and host parties,” Ms Maharaj said.
“We are very proud of our food but the desserts were quite a surprise, some were even asking for a dessert buffet. The owners of Damodar are frequent customers, and they suggested to open a place.”
She said their cheesecake, truffle and tiramisu were favourites, among other gluten-free varieties such as scones, cakes, chocolate and berry cheer cake.
“We’re working on how we can do desserts for people with diabetes because having desserts doesn’t mean you can’t be healthy,” Ms Maharaj said.
