Krishna on target in first leg defeat Roy scores despite team’s fall

Listen to this article:

Fijian football captain Roy Krishna was on target for his ATK Mohun Bagan side, however, it wasn’t enough as they lost 1-3 to Hyderabad in the first leg semi-final of the Indian Super League yesterday.

Roy started the match and it didn’t take him long to stamp a mark after he tapped in the opening goal inside the first 18 minutes.

It looked like ATK would take the lead into the break however, Hyderabad had other plans.

They equalised into the third minute of the first half injury time as the teams rested tied 1-all.

Hyderabad started the second spell strongly and scored two more goals in 14 second half minutes to seal the win.

The second leg of the semi-final will be played on March 17.

ATK Mohun Bagan needs to win that leg by three clear goals to book a spot in the final.

If they fail to do so, Krishna will then head to Qatar to join the national side for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
