Stella Maris Primary School was crowned the overall winner in the Suva Primary Schools Netball Association competition over the weekend.
The Nasese-based school scooped the Under-10, 11, 12 and 14 grades titles to claim the major overall prize.
Stella Maris did not compete in the U13 grade and its U9 grade side lost in the semi-final.
The school also won the most disciplined team award during the weekly competition.
Stella Maris headteacher Paulo Rauto thanked the girls for their hard work and hailed the achievement as a proud moment for the school. He said alongside academic work, they emphasised on sports activities to allow those who were weak in the classrooms to pursue other dreams.
“Not all students are good in the classroom but they maybe good in sports.”
“So we emphasise on both, school work and sports,” Rauto said. “We also compete in rugby and other sports as well.”
Rauto said they had been winning the overall prize for the past four years.
