Police rugby team captain Ulaiasi Lawavou said their Army counterparts would provide a performance worthy of any Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge.
“They will come firing and we respect them as they are a champion side,” Lawavou said.
“We know what the Army team is capable of. There are no bad teams and it comes down to playing the type of rugby we need to play.”
Lawavou, who plays in his eighth Sukuna Bowl challenge match and his second as captain, said this year they had brought in a squad which included some young players who would feature for the first time in the challenge.
“We have a few young lads coming in this year and most of them have been here for a while. We are taking our time to ensure that they understand the tradition, the calling on the task at hand and especially to enjoy the game.”
Lawavou said the side was eager to perform and give back to their comrades who had served on the frontline since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020.
