Fiji has reported 131 new COVID-19 cases for the 24-hour period that ended at 8am today.
Ministry of Health and Medical Services permanent secretary Dr James Fong said 63 cases were from the Western Division, 66 cases from the Central Division and two cases from the Eastern Division.
Dr Fong also confirmed one new COVID-19 from Central Division who was a 63-year-old man from Navua.
He said the victim was presented to the Navua Hospital in severe respiratory distress and died on the same day, September 12, 2021.
“He received the first dose of the vaccine in mid-August. He did not receive the second dose of the vaccine. This means that he was not fully vaccinated,” Dr Fong said.
