Lautoka businessman Anoop Chandra says his Shazia’s Unikk Barber Shop in the Sugar City was not attracting good business as the movement of children has been restricted because of the pandemic.
“Parents are no longer bringing their children to the barber shop due to fears of COVID-19 and a huge chunk of my business is lost right there,” he said.
Mr Chandra said the curfew hours had put a dent to his business as well.
“Until very recently when the curfew hours was until 6pm, people who usually would come after work hours for a haircut were forced to rush back home before the deadline hour.”
With the curfew hours pushed to 8pm, Mr Chandra hopes his “afternoon customers” will visit his shop frequent.
“Currently our second dose vaccination is at 48.4 per cent and at 50 per cent, we all are anticipating a curfew time of 8pm,” said Mr Chandra last week before government announced the new curfew time.
