For the first time in its 53-year history, the University of the South Pacific achieved The Times Higher Education Ranking that placed it among the top 10 per cent of universities in the world.

Outgoing chancellor Lionel Aingimea said the hallmark achievement was thanks to the outstanding efforts of vice-chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia and his senior management team.

The vice-chancellor said the historic milestone was a result of the strong partnerships, collaborative performance and research-intensive nature of USP.
