Special Administrator Doreen Robinson has pleaded with communities of Vanua Levu to get COVID vaccinated so borders could open and business returned to normal.
The administrator of Labasa and Savusavu towns described this initiative as imperative to shorten the suffering period of many, especially those who have lost their jobs because of COVID-19.
“Let’s just bite the bullet, adhere to the restrictions and get vaccinated, so we put a stop to this COVID issue and get back to business,” Ms Robinson said.
“Everyone is in this together and so it’s everyone’s responsibility to work together and overcome this situation.
“I know people might have been influenced by different stuff on social media about the vaccine but it’s just like other vaccines that our children received as babies, including us.”
Ms Robinson has also thanked the business communities for adhering to COVID basic restrictions.
“We work very closely with the police and we need to keep Vanua Levu safe from COVID.”
