The decision for hardware stores to operate in containment zones under the COVID-safe plan was hailed by RC Manubhai director Rajesh Patel.

Mr Patel said the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT) had created a ideal way for businesses to operate by obtaining the COVIDpass.

“It is a very good initiative and something that will help the economy,” he said.

Mr Patel said the hardware company had offered on call sales and pickup to all their valued customers in the containment zones who were in need of hardware items.

“The improvised and health-cautious based approach has not only put the hardware employees back in job but also re-engaged carpenters at the work sites.”

He said this was also the best time for people staying at home to fix their houses.

“We hope the containment areas in the western division which doesn’t have any case for over five weeks now is looked upon closely, where it can be fully opened in the future,” said Mr Patel.
