A statement from Investment Fiji yesterday said in 2020, China was Fiji’s top 10 largest export market destinations with exports at 157 per cent with woodchips, iron ores, mineral water, timber and tuna making up the export bundle.

Investment Fiji believes that an opportunity exists to therefore build on these categories and the increasing demand for niche Fijian-Made products.

According to the statement the PTI China and the Fiji Embassy held the investment promotional event on Tuesday in Beijing to promote the Fiji-China Trade Expo and showcase to Chinese buyers and distributors on niche Fijian products with the physical event attended by key Chinese businesses and buyers with product samples of few Fijian companies displayed.

“We are pleased to deliver the expo to China during the month of May 2021.

“What is also fitting is our virtual expo this month is combined with PTI China and Fiji Embassy investment promotional event in Beijing giving our exporters the opportunity to showcase some of their products at this event and also giving you our potential investors the opportunity to see investment projects available in Fiji,” said Mr Strong.
