A late comeback saw the Fiji Shadow side defeat Raiwasa Taveuni 14-12 in the first Cup semifinal of the 45th Fiji Bitter Sapphire Marist 7s at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Meli Derenalagi and Jerry Tuwai scored a try each for the national side.

Raiwasa Taveuni’s tries came from Rusiate Wainisavu and Peni Ramulo but it was the accurate kicking of pivot Livai Ikanikoda with two successful conversions that saw Gareth Baber’s side progress to the final.

The second cup semifinal is underway between Police Blue and defending champions Tabadamu.

The cup final will kick off at 6.30pm.
