ULUINAKAU Rugby Club president Epi Kolinivala has rated their latest inclusion to the side, lanky Ponipate Loganimasi as a 7s star for the future.

“This lad is destined for great things,” said Kolinivala of the 21-year-old former Fiji LDS Church College student.

“He was one of our finds during the Savusavu 7s last year and although new to our programs, he held his head high this weekend.”

Loganimasi, originally from Lovoni village, Ono-i-Lau in Lau, stood tall for the Kombat Sports-sponsored side in the restarts as well, despite his size.

He has the ability to slip through gaps and defences with deceptive pace. Kolinivala said they drafted Loganimasi into their side because he brought a new dynamic of play to the team.

“He is a very lively and likable player.

“He brings a lot of positive energy with him and with the right training and preparation, I know Ponipate will have a great 7s future in front of him.”
