Outgoing US envoy to Fiji pays farewell courtesy call

Outgoing Ambassador of the United States to Fiji, Joseph James Cella paid a farewell courtesy call to the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Immigration and Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Yogesh Karan yesterday.

Mr Cella thanked the Government for all the support provided to him during his tenure in Fiji and reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support towards advancing regional solidarity, peace and prosperity.

He said that it has been an honour, blessing and privilege serving as the United States Ambassador to Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, and Tuvalu.

Mr Karan conveyed the Government’s appreciation to Mr Cella for his leadership and commitment towards advancing the bilateral relations between the United States, Fiji and the region.

He commended the remarkable support rendered by the United States Embassy in Fiji towards strengthening partnerships pursued in mutual areas of interests and cooperation.

He also conveyed the Fijian Government’s best wishes to Mr Cella for his future endeavors.
