Muslims across the country came together to mark the National Milaad-Un-Nabi Jalsa that celebrates the life of the Prophet Muhammed.
In Lautoka today, hundreds gathered at Churchill Park at an event hosted by the Fiji Muslim League.
League national president Haji Hafizud Dean Khan said they were honoured to be part of an occasion that celebrated the life of the holy Prophet.
“It is our great effort in terms of what our pioneers did as people who set up the Fiji Muslim League to be able to continue the legacy of our forefathers who came to Fiji several decades ago,” Mr Khan said.
“In this country, of course, the benevolence, the importance of the holy Prophet in terms of his contribution to mankind, of course, affected Islam makes him very special to us and to all Muslims.”
