Local Government Minister Premila Kumar visited the Rakiraki market today, speaking to vendors, taxi and carrier operators.
She urged vendors to keep the new market clean.
“I see vendors are sitting in the corner, cleaning their dalo,” she said.
“There are buckets lying in the passageway. This shouldn’t be happening,” she added.
Mrs Kumar said the market vendors association had to play its part in raising awareness amongst its members to keep the market clean.
