New World Cup sponsor secured

THE 2014 FIFA World Cup licensed broadcaster Mai TV has secured its fourth major sponsor for the coverage of the event which starts in June.

Last week, the local free-to-air television company sealed the deal with Goodman Fielder International (Fiji) Limited through its trusted brand, Crest Chicken.

Clifford Morris, Goodman Fielder marketing and business development manager, said they were excited with the prospect of this year’s tournament.

He said Crest Chicken was delighted to be involved in this partnership with Mai TV in bringing the 2014 FIFA World Cup to the people of Fiji.

Mai TV’s general manager Marc Santos said Goodman Fielder had also partnered with them for the 2010 coverage from South Africa.

He said the company’s experience with promoting the event would be a great enhancement to the tournament here in Fiji.

“We are pleased to be associated with Goodman Fielder and Crest Chicken in this coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup which is promising to be the biggest televised event of the year,” Marc said.

“We will continue our build up to Brazil with the start of the under-17 Women’s World Cup this weekend, Live from Costa Rica.

“With women’s football going from strength to strength, there should be a real interest in this event too.”

The 20th FIFA World Cup kicks off live on Mai TV on June 12. All 64 matches will be available live on the free to air channel.
