A huge crowd gathered outside the MaxVal-u supermarket in Navua Town today.

However, the two metres social and or physical distancing rule was not practised as people queued outside the supermarket.

Some passers-by reminded fellow residents of the rule but seemed to fall on deaf ears.

According to Navua Police officers, they had cleared the line earlier today and advised people gathered of social distancing.

Police said security guards of the supermarket were also advised to ensure shoppers kept the 2m distance from each other.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has time and again reiterated the need for social distancing to help in COVID-19 containment efforts.
