COVID-19: Fiji Airways to operate final scheduled flight to Japan

Fiji Airways will operate its final scheduled flight between Nadi-Narita tomorrow.

The national carrier said the flight which would return on Saturday is to assist Japanese citizens and residents return home to Japan, as well as to repatriate Fijians based in Japan back home.

Only Japanese citizens and residents will be able to board from Nadi, while on return from Narita, only Fiji citizens and residents, staff of the United Nations and European Union, work permit holders, and diplomatic passport holders will be able to board.

Fiji Airways said all guests might be subject to further boarding requirements at check-in.

“All guests will be subject to the respective Governments’ requirements for international arrivals,” Fiji Airways stated.

“This may include temperature checks, requirements for self-quarantine or self-isolation upon arrival.”

According to Fiji Airways, guests holding unused tickets between the two cities (for a future/past travel date) are able to book themselves on the flight by calling those numbers.
