TEAM Fiji Archery has its eyes aiming for the Oceania Archery Championships which will be held from April 5-9, 2020.
Archer George Fong said there was only one spot available for Tokyo.
“There is one archery quota spot available for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” Fong said.
“Fiji will need to win the quota spot to be able to send an archer to the Olympics.
“We will be competing against archers from Samoa, Tonga, Palau, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, as New Zealand and Australia have already secured quota spots from previous tournaments.
“We will be sending two elite athletes to a one-month training camp in the Philippines in March to prepare for the Oceania Archery Championships.”
He added that in terms of international competitions, they would be sending athletes to the New Zealand National Archery Championships from February 5-9 (team of 5) and the Australian Open from February 21-22(team of 2).
