Fijian President attends Japanese Emperor’s enthronement ceremony

FIJIAN President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote and First Lady Sarote are in Japan to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito.

Mr and Mrs Konrote joined world leaders to attend the Enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito in Tokyo yesterday.

The ceremony was held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo with more than 2000 guests in attendance.

Royal guests present at the prestigious ceremony were King Willem of the Netherlands, King Philippe of Belgium, King Felipe VI of Spain and Prince of Wales Prince Charles.

Mr Konrote, along with other Heads of States, royalties and leaders, was invited to The Imperial Court Banquet for dinner with the Emperor and Empress.
