IT was a day of merriment for the Nakarawa family as they gathered together at their home in Namadi Heights to cheer on their hero and Flying Fijians veteran Leone Nakarawa in their Rugby World Cup opener against the Wallabies yesterday.

“We have come from all over,” said Nakarawa’s elder brother Simeti Cakau.

“It’s a day we have all waited for this day and we thank God for the opportunity that we could just come together as a family to cheer on Leone,” Cakau said.

“It is great when a family can come together to enjoy others company for the love of rugby.

“Some of us have travelled from Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka Namosi and Suva just to support Leone and all our warriors over in Japan.”

With the house decked with the Fiji flag and donning custom made T-shirts, Cakau said it would be a day of excitement regardless of the result of the first game.

“We know we will enjoy today and cheer our hearts out for the boys.

“They will give it their all and bring the Webb Ellis Cup to Fiji.”
