FIJI’S lone female Taekwondo athlete Anegha Narayan walked away with a silver medal today after losing to Australia’s Tamzin Christoffel in the finals of the under 49kg women’s category at the Faleata Harvest Centre in Samoa.

Narayan went down 49-4 with a win by point to Australia.

Despite being her first competition, Narayan was content with her achievement and aimed to do better in the future.

“It was a really good learning experience for me because I had to fight against Australia’s number one fighter. So it was a good experience for me because now I know where I need to improve on,” Narayan said.

“Next time when I come back, I will aim for a gold medal and I will be able to know where my capabilities lie.”
