Court dismisses Ratu Inoke’s appeal

NAITASIRI high chief Ratu Inoke Takiveikata’s appeal was dismissed by the Court of Appeal in Suva today.

Ratu Inoke was sentenced to life imprisonment on March 4, 2011, and the High Court in Suva had fixed a non-parole period of eight years.

He was sentenced after a retrial for inciting the 2000 mutiny at Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

The Naitasiri high chief was represented by Naco Chambers.
