THE Queen’s 93rd birthday celebration this evening will be very a special one, says British High Commissioner to Fiji Melanie Hopkins.

She said this was because it would be held in the presence of the 1st Scots Guards.

“It will have a particular Scottish feel to the event and the serious point is that there are more Fijians in the Scottish Regiment than any other nationality after British,” Ms Hopkins said.

“It’s not just about symbolism, but celebrating the practical cooperation that goes on as well.”

Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday celebration will be held at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Suva this evening.
