THE Nevada National Guard and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) officially signed a partnership to allow Fiji into the State’s partnership program today.
This new partnership was formally announced by U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs Randall Schriver on December 14 last year.
The Adjutant General for the State of Nevada, Brigadier General William Burks, said the partnership between the RFMF and Nevada National Guard was designed to enhance interoperability, create training opportunities and sustain the capabilities that strengthened the Fiji-US relationship.
“The partnership provides a unique opportunity to work with Fiji on shared security and economic interests,” General Burks said.
RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto said they were delighted with the arrangement and looked forward to the partnership.
