LABASA has players who can turn out to create upset for Babasiga Lions against Rewa in the final of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT, says team manager Nilesh Lal.

Labasa is the favourite in the final after having beaten Rewa 4-0 in their group matches two weeks ago at the same venue. However, Rewa coach Marika Rodu had used his reserve players in that match.

“The tournament has been a very positive one for us so far and we have been playing according to our game plan and we managed to come out on top in our pool and the semi-final,” Lal said.
“It will be a great game for both the teams in the final.

“We want our fans to come out in numbers and we will surely give our best shot in the final and hopefully we will come out victors with our game in place for the final. We are grateful to our sponsors Galaxy Hotels and Rental and our coach Anand Sami has been a big difference with the strategy he is using as he has got a good game plan to tackle Rewa.”

Lal said Rewa goalkeeper Manasa Waqavou had been lucky to prevent some of the good shots from going into the net.

“We were looking at Rewa’s match against Lautoka and he (Manasa) had saved some balls from crossing the line. We have some game plans and lucky charms in our team as well,” he said.

“Some of the players who are our lucky charms are Edwin Shayam, Christopher Wasasala and senior player Taniela Waqa who has been guiding the team well.”

*The match kicks off at 2pm today at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
