SEVENTEEN-year-old badminton player Chang Ho Kim is aiming to win a gold medal at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.

Chang participated in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games where he scooped a silver medal in the mixed doubles event.

The Korean-born said the Bueno Aires Youth Olympic Games challenged him to strive for the best.

“After returning from the Youth Olympic Games earlier this year I have set out new goals for myself,” Chang said.

“I want to strive to be a better player and grab a gold medal for Fiji in the Pacific Games.”

He competed in the National Open and Junior Championship in Suva last week where he won the first prize in the under-19 boys singles category.

“Competing in local tournaments will be a buildup for me because I need to increase my game time. I believe that the more I play, the better my skills will be.”

He is now preparing to represent Fiji in the Oceania Open and Junior Championship in Melbourne next year.
