Update: 11:02AM THE hurricane warning in force for Ono-i-Lau and Vatoa in the Lau group from yesterday still remains.
The special weather bulletin number 13 for Fiji on Tropical Cyclone Gita issued from the Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre (RSMC) in Nadi at 5:05am this morning says a storm warning remains in force for the rest of Southern Lau group.
“A gale warning remains in force for Matuku, Totoya, Moala, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and is now in force for Lakeba and Nayau,” the RSMC said.
“A strong wind warning is now in force for central Lau group, Lomaiviti group and Southern half of Viti Levu and is now in force for rest of Fiji.”
