Traditional drink

Traditional drink

Edward Kumar’s response (FT/12/12/17) is way off the mark. In indigenous Fijian history, kava is a traditional drink that has been shared between tribes symbolising peace and forgiveness.

Any drink including kava when abused will have negative consequences. One does not need to read the Bible to know that. Furthermore, one of the miracles shared in the Bible was Christ turning water to wine.

My point Edward is that the traditional drink which most, if not all, Fijians term as grog when drunk, is no way linked to the devil or devil worship. In moderate amount it is a relaxant as has been scientifically proven.
