SJSS set for battle

DEFENDING champion of the 2017 Tuckers Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey U19 Westmere Trophy St Joseph’s Secondary School will not predict anything before the competition.

St Joseph’s Secondary School head coach Lice Crocker said their preparation had been on track.

“We are preparing just like any other schools for the competition,” she said.

“Everybody has a training program and we are preparing for the competition. We will go out and enjoy playing hockey.”

St Joseph’s Secondary School had been a champion side after winning the title for the eight years from 2006 to 2013 and then the side won the competition again last year.

“We cannot say anything before the competition since no one can predict the future. If we are prepared well from our training sessions then it will be determined in the game,” she said.

“I want the girls to go out on the court and show what they have learnt and develop their skills and the important thing is that they have to enjoy the game.

“It will be a different game in Levuka, we will start from the bottom and work ourselves up.”

The side will play Suva Grammar School, St John’s College.
