Hand trolley

With the plastic levy tax now in place we can consider supermarkets or suppliers of hand trolley to start selling these so that customers can purchase and use them during our routine supermarket shopping visits to conveniently purchase groceries especially if quantity /size of shopping is managed by one person and in one trolley. The idea is to discourage customers from using plastic bags.

Truth or lie

The other night when only into our second basin, suddenly Dan Urai stood up and said, “I have to go home because I miss my wife”. Well I be! If all men were like Dan, the divorce rate would drop dramatically. Then again, he is a unionist so I’d rather believe Allen’s fragrant untruth stories.

New challenge

Political party leaders who are of the view that Fiji First leader’s popularity as the preferred prime minister has grown is a “new” challenge for them are joking right? (FT 7/8).

No non-tax

payers

In a letter on FT7/8/17, K. Keteca talks about “handouts to many non-taxpayers”. Allow me to point out there are no “non-taxpayers” in Fiji. Since the introduction of VAT I believe everybody who spends money shopping contributes towards government’s coffers.

People’s response

A few years ago, when there was a road accident, people’s first response was ‘What? Oh my God!’ Nowadays when that happens, people say, ‘Whatever. It’s no big deal!’ Motorists, please take care!

Blocking sites

I totally support the Governments initiative to combat easy accessibility of porn sites by blocking. This could be a way of rooting out the Lustful thoughts and deeds of a minor or a likely perpetrator.

Diaper situation

Could the Government do something about the diapers too. Plastic bags in the Labasa river broke the shaft of my 40 horse-power outboard motor but the diapers have made me stop eating the fish and crabs from the Labasa River. But the friends that eat the fish say they like the fat in the fish and crabs from the river.
