RATED as the number one outdoor activity in Fiji on TripAdvisor, the Sigatoka River Safari, stamped its mark as the best tour operator in Australasia after it was announced “Australasia’s leading adventure tour operator at the 24th annual World Travel Awards held in Shanghai, China recently.
Sigatoka River Safari managing director Jay Whyte thanked and acknowledged the support people of Sigatoka, especially the vanua of Navosa, who shared their culture with visitors every day.
“We are delighted that our company has been honoured by the prestigious World Travel Awards,” said Mr Whyte.
“To be recognised at this worldwide level for all our tours, the Sigatoka River Safari, Off-Road Caves Safari, River Jets and Water Blob, is an amazing achievement and a true testament to our dedicated team, who each day work hard to ensure our guests experience unforgettable and authentic Fijian tours,” he said.
A statement from the company yesterday said Sigatoka River Safari first began operations in 2006 and was the world’s first jet-boat safari and village experience of its kind, offering visitors of all ages a half-day adventure into the heart and soul of Fiji.
The tour operator was welcomed into TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame as a result of achieving the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years since 2011 and it also won Best Fiji Experience in 2008 and Best Adventure Tour in 2007 at the annual AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Sigatoka River Safari is also launching another World’s First and Fiji original on July 1, 2017 — a electric velocipede experience on the old sugar railway line on the Coral Coast of Fiji.
