Restaurant sets a benchmark

THE newly-opened Zing Restaurant at Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa is setting a benchmark in promoting authentic Indian and Chinese cuisine to the public.

Resort executive chef Prabhat Prawin said the menu at the restaurant consisted of traditional Indian, Indo-Fijian and Chinese dishes.

“We brought two chefs from China who help and assist me to enhance the menu for the Chinese cuisine and make it more authentic,” he said.

What used to be a relatively unknown spot for many locals and tourists has today turned into one of the finest eateries offering Asian cuisines.

Mr Prawin said this change was also brought about by guest reviews on travel website TripAdvisor.

“Before, this was not identified as one of the best venues to dine and we can see quite a lot of locals who like Indian and Chinese food so now, they always come and dine in the restaurant and we always get very good feedback.

“When I started the Zing used to be number 24 (out of the 33 restaurants on Denarau) on TripAdvisor and now, it’s on number 13 and every month, it keeps going up.”
