ROSI Kei Viti, a teenager who has drawn the ire of hundreds of Fijian social media users, says the chilling audio clip containing her testimony of killing many people through sorcery was true.
Although her claims have drawn death threats from close family members and caused alarm among the general populace, police said no official reports had been lodged against the young girl.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, in an earlier interview, urged those who were threatened to come forward and lodge a report against her.
A team from The Fiji Times went in search of the teenager after the audio clip went viral on the internet and found an ordinary out-of-school teenage girl carrying out household chores at a home in the Western Division.
She revealed she had a Facebook account and was very aware of the anger and death threats made against her because of the claims in the audio clip that had been widely circulated on social media.
Calm and collected unlike the hype surrounding her on the internet, Rosi claimed the killings were committed through “black magic and witchcraft”.
She said her soul was “sold to the devil” when she was a child, which enabled her to possess demonic powers.
She said she was now a changed person who had renounced her evil past.
“The audio is a recording of my testimony at a church event where I was talking about my past and how I had changed,” she said.
“The biggest difference is when those evil spirits were with me, I never left the house.
“I didn’t have or feel any love or any emotion. My life was burdened and I was not at peace. It was very different from how things are now for me. Now I’m more at ease and I can step outside the house.”
She said her Facebook account attracted up to 5000 followers and she was bullied into deactivating her account.
The team from this newspaper has undertaken to verify some claims made by Rosi. A detailed account of the story she shared will be published in tomorrow’s Sunday Times.
