CONSTRUCTION of the multimillion dollar Damodar City Labasa should start in the next three to four weeks.
Damodar Group CEO, Div Damodar confirmed the construction of the $40million (m) venture would be in three phases.
The first phase to be completed within a year and worth $15m would include a supermarket, 24 retail shops and two food and beverage outlets.
The second phase, which should begin months after the first phase would include three cinemas with a total seating capacity of 650, an event lounge with conference facilities, food court, two department stores and 18 retail stores.
The third phase will have a hotel with 40 rooms capacity, convention center, fine dine restaurants and an executive bar and lounge facility.
When completed, Damodar City Labasa would be bigger than Damodar City Suva sitting on an eight acre property with car parking space of up to 300 cars.
Mr Damodar confirmed they have secured tenants for the first phase of the project.
