PHAMACISTS attending the Fiji Pharmaceutical Society conference were asked if they were ready to be sexual or reproductive health educators.
“How well do you young pharmacists cope when they attend to patients who complain about their sexual dysfunction problems, especially in Fiji where sex remains taboo,” said Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar.
Ms Akbar said pharmacists were often first-line health-care providers in Fiji and pharmacies have always played a key role in helping people to look after their own health.
“Women routinely visit pharmacies to purchase or seek advice from phamacists on treatments for minor ailments, some forms of contraceptives, and for the dispensing of prescriptions for contraceptives products.”
Meanwhile, the two days conference ended today.
