THE Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Hospital Ship, Ark Peace, departed our shores today after completing its mission and assisting more than 6500 locals.

The Ambassador of China to Fiji, Qian Bo, said the staff on board had achieved what they had planned during their visit to Fiji.

“During the seven to eight days, the ship was able to provide medical treatment to more than 6500 people,” Mr Qian said.

“This is a huge number we have never imagined.”

Ark Peace is now on its way to Tonga where they will provide free medical treatment to the locals.
