Update: 5:04PM THE Seeto family in Fiji celebrated a great milestone last night – the 100th birthday of the matriarch in their family – Wai Kun Seeto.
Wai Kun Seeto first came to Fiji in 1956 with her husband from China and overcame many challenges of coming to a foreign land to start a new life.
Her eldest son David Seeto described life then as ‘tough’, however through their hard work the family prospered.
More than 400 guests attended the event in Samabula, Suva last night which had 45 different food dishes on display.
Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association president Dixon Seeto said the family spared no expenses to achieve the birthday bash for his aunt.
The Seeto family is a well-known business family in the country with various investments in properties and restaurants.
