THE “Hayne Plane” did not leave on Wednesday as we thought but yesterday morning.
His former national sevens rugby Olympic squad members farewelled him singing the “Isa Lei” at the foot of the Sigatoka sand dunes.
Following the song, they cheered for Hayne before they hugged and said their goodbyes.
As he waved, one player jokingly suggested that he should leave his wallet behind.
Hayne was part of the squad until national coach Ben Ryan announced he was out of contention last week.
Ryan earlier this week said if he was a Super Rugby coach he would sign up Hayne as an inside centre.
While he has received many offers, Hayne said he had made no plans for the future yet.
