GOODMAN Fielder is the latest company to sponsor the Fijian Performing Rights Association Music Awards scheduled for Saturday.
FPRA music awards coordinator Seru Serevi said the timely $5000 gift from Goodman Fielder to the association would not only benefit those attending the awards night but also grassroots musicians.
“The cash sponsorship will go towards rewarding the winner of the Most Popular Music Video category as well as help finance the overall staging of the FPRA Music Awards,” Serevi said.
Goodman Fielder general manager Chris Zaaymaan said the company was happy to be associated with an event that acknowledged artistes for their contribution to the local music industry.
There are five nominations for the Most Popular Music Video Award.
The nominees are: Ena Bogi sung by Savuto Vakadewavosa; Sai Kemuni by One2Eight; Noqu Senikau by Kula Kei Uluivuya; She’s not crying anymore; and Noqu Daulomani by Naseda.
“The Most Popular Music Video Award category is an important category and it is only fitting that a company with a reputation for supporting families would take that category.
“This is an award that invites the opinion of the public through mobile text voting, we include the public and ask for their input.”
