THIS issue of the packed buses is becoming very common and action by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is long overdue. Thank you Ravi Kant (FT 22/01) for raising this issue which is a very serious factor and it seems like the LTA will only take some strict measures when a mishap or accident will happen. Come on LTA open up your eyes. Send your officers to the bus stand and in the buses.
It is not a good sight and and it’s also very unsafe and unhygienic as people in crowded buses will obviously come into skin contact which can be dangerous. Believe me not many out there like to stand close to each other having their skin coming in contact with other people in this hot weather. It is definitely not good for our students as well.
The main issue here is that buses are not allowed to be packed like sardines and unfortunately nothing is being done about it.
I’m sure someone in LTA can actually give this important matter some serious thoughts and actually do something about it.
LTA, your action on this matter will be appreciated.
