THE Total Excellium New Generation’s formulation has been optimised with specific detergent additives to clean engine’s vital components and keep them clean over time.
TOTAL Fiji Limited managing director Martin John McCarthy said the results from the New Generation fuel was up to 93 per cent less buildup for diesel engines and up to 99 per cent for gasoline engines.
“The development of new engines means new customer expectations that have to be met. Vehicles have evolved immensely in recent years in order to adapt to new emission control standards,” Mr McCarthy said.
“New engines are therefore more and more demanding concerning the fuel they use (temperature and high pressures).
“The number of stop and start vehicles and hybrid vehicles is increasing and these new technologies are more complex and more sensitive to deposit buildup corrosions. Fuel development must continuously cope with the needs of every engine and of every technology, whether old or new.”
He said to meet those changing requirements, TOTAL decided to adapt its products, the new line of TOTAL Excellium premium fuels addresses this challenge.
“By eliminating deposits on injection systems, the TOTAL Excellium New Generation keeps engines performing at their optimum level over time,” Mr McCarthy said.
“The fuel’s additive also includes molecules that reduce friction between metal parts and therefore reduce wear and help extend engine life. Together, the cleaning and friction-reduction technologies lead to reduced fuel consumptions and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
“This demonstrates TOTAL’s technical progress in a new generation of fuels which clean your engine and provide long-lasting protection to make it more efficient, more economical and less polluting.” He said the TOTAL Excellium New Generation is compatible with all existing diesel and gasoline vehicles, from cars to trucks.
“TOTAL Excellium New Generation unleaded gasoline and diesel is now available in every TOTAL service station in Fiji,” Mr McCarthy said.
“We encourage you to keep on filling up with TOTAL Excellium New Generation and give your cars a treat that they deserve.”3 TOTAL entered Fiji and Tonga markets through the acquisition of Shell’s assets in November 2006 and has quickly established itself as a market leader in the inland and marine fuel markets in Fiji.
Its Fiji business consists of a full suite of ground activities that include retail service stations, commercial and bulk fuels, marine activities, and lubricants. TOTAL (Fiji) Limited owns six storage facilities in Fiji with the main terminals located at Walu Bay and Rodwell Rd in Suva and Vuda Point in Lautoka. Five of these terminals and depots are operated by TOTAL while the remaining one is managed and operated by 3rd parties.
TOTAL is a global integrated energy producer and provider, a leading international oil and gas company. With operations in more than 130 countries, TOTAL has more than 98,000 workers.
In addition, the company has more than 15,000 service stations worldwide.
TOTAL’s ambition is to deliver profitable, sustainable growth in its exploration and production operations, meet customer requirements with innovative solutions and develop world-class competitive refining and petrochemical complexes.
The company is also very much involved in renewable energy through solar and biomass and is the second biggest Solar PV Panel producer in the world through its acquisition of 66 per cent of Sunpower. This demonstrates TOTAL’s move from being a traditional oil company to establishing itself as an energy provider. Its Vuda terminal runs 100 per cent on solar power through its 67KW photovoltaic solar system, which is the first fuel facility of Total in Asia-Pacific to run on solar.
Total Fiji has the most secured and reliable fleet card with a coverage of 30 service stations — Fiji wide, with an exclusive coverage in Taveuni and Levuka and it will soon open two new service stations at the end of this year.
