Fighting piracy

Fighting piracy

A LOT was said on Fiji One, warning people not to pirate the fight of the century between Floyd and Manny.

The CEO of Fiji TV also went on air during the news saying offenders will face the full brunt of the law.

There were raids conducted on several shops in Suva and alleged pirated fight discs were taken.

The question is what happened after that?

A prominent pirate DVD outlet operating from almost everywhere in Fiji seems to be pirating everything available in the universe from kids learning DVDs to porn and every other copyright material including the banned boxing disc in broad daylight.

How is this outlet and many others allowed to break the law and keep operating.

There are several outlets that do not keep copyright material and when asked why, say that the laws are very strict and yet others operate as if they are immune to the law.

Could the relevant authorities clear the air on this matter and especially on this particular piracy king of Fiji outlets.
