A 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Ono-i-Lau region this morning.
The seismic activity that occurred at 10:35am was recorded 37 km NE from, Doi village, Ono-i-Lau, 380 km SE from Vunisea, Kadavu and 426 km SE from Suva, Fiji.
The Seismology Unit of the Mineral Resources department stated that the earthquake occurred with a deep depth of 37 km NorthEast from Doi village, Ono-i-Lau and does not pose any immediate tsunami threat to the region.
