4R FC defeated Flying Arrows FC 3-2 to top Pool A of the Ba Football Regional League at the Fiji FA Academy grounds yesterday.
The match started in 4R FC’s favour, with Nabil Begg giving them an early breakthrough. His well-taken strike ensured the visitors went into the break holding a 1-0 advantage.
The second half saw 4R FC lift their intensity, defending solidly while launching sharp counterattacks. Nigerian import Alemoh Moses Alfred proved decisive, netting a double to seal the win and send the home fans into celebration.
Flying Arrows fought back with two second-half goals from Penaia Nagatalevu and Peceli Sukabula, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit.
Flying Arrows head coach Timoci Seru reflected on the contest.
“It was a tough match for us. We brought in a lot of new players and wanted to see them play together as we prepare for the semis next week. Our aim is to qualify for the National Club Championships.”
With this win, 4R FC tops Pool A, while Flying Arrows will finish as runners-up, setting up an exciting semifinal stage in the Ba league next week.
