38-year-old drowns in Wainibokasi River

A 38-year-old man is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.

According to police, the incident occurred at the Wainibokasi River early this week.

“The victim’s body was found floating by a 25-year-old woman who was collecting freshwater mussels at the said river,” said police in a statement

The matter was reported at the Wainibokasi Community Post.

Investigations continue.
