Burger King has donated $30,000 to the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji (FENC).

Burger King’s Fiji general manager Kavinesh Reddy said education should not just be for a few, but for all children in Fiji because it is their basic right.

“It lays the foundation for dreams, creates opportunities and shapes a better future,” he said.

“We understand that many of the children supported by FENC Fiji come from very challenging and disadvantaged backgrounds, often struggling to access even basic school needs.

“Through our partnership with FENC, we aim to help close that gap and give these children a fair chance at a brighter tomorrow.”

Mr Reddy said the donation is double the amount they contributed in 2024, which was collected via charity boxes placed at all seven of their Burger King outlets in Fiji.

FENC executive coordinator Nirmala Nambiar said they are lucky to have received such a huge amount and are planning on how to utilise it to increase the number of initiatives to help needy children.

“The growing number of learning centres in our communities and setting up new chapters will help vulnerable children get after-school support,” Ms Nambiar said.

“Bless the hands that have dropped money in coin boxes at Burger King outlets.”
