THE Asia-Pacific Hotel Industry Conference & Exhibition (AHICE) Fiji Investment in Tourism Summit will attract over 300 delegates when it kicks off in Nadi next week.

In an interview with The Fiji Times, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka said the return of the AHICE was an indication of investor confidence that had been building for the past two years.

“Fiji right now is very hot; people want to come to Fiji to invest,” Mr Gavoka said.

“The environment for investment is quite conducive and the yield here in terms of the earnings you make in Fiji is very high.

“That is an indication that the product is of high quality and people want to come to Fiji and build similar types of products knowing that the yield is here.

“So, when you go and invest in any country, you will want to know the tourism yield, the bottom-line people are seeing. Fiji right now is very healthy and attractive to investors.”

The three-day event, hosted by HM Magazine and co-hosted by Investment Fiji and Tourism Fiji, will be held at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on June 24 to June 26.

“The AHICE Fiji Investment in Tourism Summit’s exclusive launch was held in December 2023 and attended by almost 100 leading hotel owners, operators, consultants and suppliers from across Fiji and Asia-Pacific,” AHICE stated on their official website.

“In July 2024, the conference returned to Fiji with almost triple the numbers at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.”
