A planned $25 million hotel and apartment development in Ba is expected to deliver a significant economic boost to the province and wider Western Division, creating jobs, attracting investment and strengthening the area’s tourism potential.

Minister for Local Government Maciu Nalumisa visited the proposed Racecourse Hotels and Apartments development site at Namosau/Vutuni in Ba, describing the project as a major step forward for the region’s future growth.

The development, valued at approximately $25 million, will be carried out in two phases and is expected to generate substantial economic activity during both the construction and operational stages.

According to the Ministry, the construction phase will create immediate employment opportunities for local residents while laying the foundation for long-term jobs once the project is completed.

The investment is being viewed as one of the more significant private sector developments planned for Ba in recent years and is expected to stimulate business activity across multiple sectors, including construction, tourism, retail and services.

Upon completion, the Racecourse Hotels and Apartments development is expected to enhance Ba’s profile as a destination for tourism, business investment and major regional events.

Minister Nalumisa said the project represents an important opportunity to drive economic growth and future development within the province, while also contributing to broader economic activity throughout the Western Division.

The development comes as Government continues to encourage investment projects aimed at creating employment, supporting local businesses and strengthening regional economic growth outside the major urban centres.
